At the club meeting tonight, a letter was read from clubman, Joe Bracken.
Joe thanked our club for hosting the Clancy 5k fundraising event on Sunday February 11th last. In particular he thanked Chairman Tom Flanagan, Secretary Mary Shelly and the club officers for accommodating the walk/run and use of the wonderful club grounds and facilities.
John Corcoran, and his team, were also thanked especially for his huge effort and contribution on the day and indeed leading up to the event.
Joe said that by the Club's combined efforts and those of the directors and staff of Clancy, the day was a tremendous success, so milé, milé buíochas to all.
"The goodwill and support of the club and parish community was and continues to be a huge source of comfort in what were and continue to be, difficult circumstances which presented on our doorstep. We are too acutely aware, that we are not alone and there are many more out there in a similar position.
Blessed with good weather, those that traveled long distances from counties, Waterford, Limerick, Meath, across the border in Kilkenny to name but a few were in awe at the club's facilities. It is at times like this, that the huge efforts of current and previous chairpersons, officers and committees and indeed the development steering committee led by Laurenz Egan and co must be duly recognised and congratulated for having the vision in bringing a dream into reality.
From the bottom of our grateful hearts, thank you most sincerely."
Moycarkey Borris GAA Club wish Ciaran and his family the best as he continues on his treatment journey.
