The Late Late Show is celebrating Gaelic Games with a special edition of the show this Friday 5th April.
We are honoured to have the six ladies from our club in attendance as guests to recognise this great achievement on ladies football 50th anniversary. 👏👏👏

Moycarkey Borris Ladies Gaelic Football Club was formed in 1974.

Dermot Shanahan, Sally Clohessy, Ann Clohessy, Margaret Shortall , Cait Cantwell , Cait O Dwyer , Margaret Leahy and Mary Purcell were founder members of the club.

Up to 1974 Ladies Football was played in several counties at club level only . In 1974 a meeting took place in Hayes Hotel , Thurles with a view to setting up an All Ireland Council to run Provincial and All Ireland championships. Sally Clohessy, Ann Clohessy and Dermot Shanahan attended the
first meeting and Tipperary man Jim Kennedy from Clonmel was elected First Chairman.

The first All Ireland Championship was run in 1974.
