Tom Kelly RIP (Coolcroo, Two Mile Borris):
The parish and GAA community of Moycarkey Borris are saddened to hear that Tom Kelly has died. One of the gentlest and friendliest people in the parish Tom endured a long illness with dignity and serenity.
Tom was named after his father Tommy the goalkeeper in the great Moycarkey Borris hurling teams of the 1930’s. Tom himself played Hurling and Football for Moycarkey Borris at every grade and age level and like his Dad he donned the Number one jersey on many occasions. In 1966 Tom was the Senior Hurling goalkeeper in the team defending the Mid Championship title. Other players in that team like Paddy Bourke, Gus Ryan, Liam Hennessy, Tommy Lonergan, John Carroll, Pat Ryan, Mick Gooney, Pat Barry, Billy Nolan, John Flanagan, Dick Buckley,  Dick Fitzgerald, Billy Ryan and Paddy Coman were his neighbours and friends.
Whether at work in Bord Na Mòna, in the garden or at hurling training Tom was a perfectionist. His  lines of turf would be perfectly straight, his drills of potatoes wouldn’t have a weed and his Hurleys would be the nicest and best cared for on  the field of play.
Tom always loved to chat about the games, his interest never waned as he wholeheartedly supported his nephews, nieces, family, neighbours, Moycarkey Borris and Tipperary.
Our sincere sympathy to Mary, Joan, Patsy, Noeleen, Bridget, Lily, nephews, nieces, family, former colleagues, neighbours and friends. May Tom rest in peace.
