Moycarkey Borris – Club Notes 02/04/23

Club Social

We are delighted to say our Club Social will now take place in the Anner Hotel on the new date of April 22nd 2023. All previously bought tickets are still valid. Tickets (€45) can be bought in Clohessys, Bannons, Corcorans and O'Keeffe's Shop or from Mary Shelly or Sharon Ralph. Special Guest - Liam Cahill, MC - Joe Kirwan, Music - Silver Dollar and Disco on the night. Check out our promotional videos online!

Senior Club

Hard luck to our Senior hurlers who lost to Borris-Ileigh (3-12 to 1-20) and Junior B hurlers who lost to Holycross (0-17 to 2-13). Our Junior A hurlers drew with Thurles Sarsfields (1-18 to 1-18).

Well done to Eamon Flanagan who was part of the Roscommon Senior Hurling team who defeated Armagh in the Allianz Hurling League Division 3A Final Roscommon 2-17 Armagh 0-15.

Juvenile Club

Hard luck to our Minor Footballers who were defeated by Toomevara in their Minor Football League game at the weekend.

Senior Club Chairman Tom Flanagan and Juvenile Club Secretary Kitty O'Brien, along with School Liaison Officers visited all four schools in the parish and presented them with a framed club crest detailing the history of the club and also presented each child with a personalised club ruler.

Moycarkey Borris Camogie and Ladies Football Club

Congratulations to Sarah Corcoran, Kate Ralph, Molly O’Dwyer and Ciara Shelly who were with the Tipperary Minors who defeated Galway in the All Ireland series. They now head to Cork Camogie Grounds where they now take on Cork on Easter Sunday.

Commiserations to Emma Corcoran and Kate Dowling who were with the Tipperary Under 16 team who were defeated by Clare in the Shield Semi Final.

Tipperary Under 16 football team made the long journey to Castleisland where they defeated Kerry by a point. This win today sets them up with a Munster A final against Cork. Well done Aoife Shelly and Sophie Coughlan.

Our under 12 girls travelled to Moyne Templetuohy where they participated in a very well organised blitz. A great day was had by all, and all the girls got plenty of game time.

Commiserations to our under 14 girls who lost out to Drom camogie team by a single point on Saturday afternoon.

Our under 17s had a good win against Boherlahan in the football development league and now play Clonmel this Thursday in Clonmel.

Club Lotto
